Safeguarding

There are appropriate arrangements in place to safeguard both mentors and mentees. The organisation publishes their criteria.

Examples of best practice include:

  • Mentoring agreement
  • Mentoring contract
  • Mentors & mentees meet in neutral, public places
  • Conduct a risk assessment of your activities and client base – what safeguards do you need to put in place?
  • Meeting places, CRB checks and policy updates are clearly agreed
  • Named individual trained in Safeguarding.
  • Published criteria
  • Induction
